The 'What now?' Moment...
This is about that empty feeling I was talking about. You know the one, the one that sits in the middle of your chest and masquerades as cravings for endorphin releasing foods, comforts and want for physical fullness.
The 'what now' is that moment where after 'X-many' months or years, you have hinged your emotional well-being on this surgical solution, and you realize that even after losing weight, you are still not mentally where you would like to be.
The same negativity lurking, the same self doubt, the same emotional emptiness...
You look at yourself in the mirror and think... "what now?" ... what is the next step? What do you need to do to make all the pieces fit... is it really body image? Is it really 10lbs? Is it really the amount of carbs you are eating? ... You know the answer to this one... NO.
That 'what now' moment, really needs to be your 'AHA!' Moment , where you realize that a physical measure will not provide resolution to an emotional problem. But for many, the 'what now' emphasizes that emptiness, and that's the exact moment where 'what now' becomes 'why bother'... and you let old habits of comfort sneak back in.
That 'what now', is the indicator that health and happiness runs deeper than fat or thin, and it's time to embrace the dark scary nature of you... time to explore your triggers, emotions, barriers.
You put your life in the hands of a surgeon, so don't be scared to take yourself on this journey.
This is why RESET and Balanced Macros are written like they are, their first task is getting you comfortable with addressing these things, developing mechanisms to cope and change behavior, to fill the emotional well.
Give it a chance.
