One of the things I love to do is create recipes that help me enjoy my food.
No one said that after you have bariatric surgery that you had to be numb to taste and avoid enjoyment.
There is no need to feel guilty about enjoying what I am eating, and one of the things that has helped this is lowing my carb intake (but not too crazy).
It allows me to “MENTALLY INDULGE” (have the sensation of eating something that isn’t nutritionally sound), whilst not physically indulging. in the sugar/carb filled craziness of the bakery.
So today’s VERY successful creation is this ‘semi-dense’ low-carb seed bread.
I say ‘semi’ because its not as dense as a pumpernickel but its heavier than your average loaf of bread. Its great warmed and slathered in butter, but awesome toasted. As you see by the picture, the loaf has been sliced into 14 slices, a Bari-serve is half a slice, I could only eat 1/2 !!
BUT each half slice is 0.6g CARBS, 5g PROTEIN and 8g FAT.
SAY WHAT!!! Heck yes, cut me off a slice!
Delicious straight from oven with butter, Or toasted with butter and Keto Chia Jam (see condiments section of the recipe base) or with Aioli , Pan seared asparagus and Fried egg.
All recipes and images are the property of CR nutrition. I'd love for you to share the link to my recipes, however, please do not copy without credit. Thank you and Enjoy!!
